Dathyl, Dath, Vain'athual (Tho, only Githas knows this particular name)
132 (at time of death)
Male
Single
Complete Neutral
Black, loose ponytail
Bright blue eyes
rougly 6'2
Muscular and Thin, lightweight
Most prominent feature is his black skin
A crossmark scar on his chest
Typically black or blue in color. Occasionally red. Most often wearing plate or cloth.
Dathyl has a harsh face, his eyes are cold and sadness tugs at all his features. His mouth is almost permanently drawn down, his brow always furrowed. An elf through and through, his pointed ears are often drawn down in thought.
Swords, Axes and Polearms
Very abrupt, usually not saying anything. Knows Orcish and Thalassian.
Cold, antisocial and withdrawn, Dathyl will never open himself up to outsiders. Towards a close friend or family he has a sense of humor, though it may seem wild, random, and weird. Rationalizing and realistic, he is always prepared for the worst-case scenarios.
When in combat, a darker side of him will take over, gleefully laughing at the misery he causes. With this side revealed, he engages is almost constant chatter, belting out loud and death-related rhymes.
While speaking (if one can actually get him to speak more than one sentence) Dathyl will occasionally trail off mid-sentence and stare off at something. See personality for the combat quirk.
In life, Dathyl was a blacksmith of some skill.
While in his combat mindset, he has skill at poetry, albeit sadistic and death related. He also has a great affinity for the frost and unholy portion of death knight skills.
He and his brother are the sole surviving members of their family. Well, technically Dathyl is actually dead. And his brother is a paladin. Awkward family reunions, no?
The Ebon Blade is his strongest loyalty tie, however he also has a pact with another death knight by the alias of Bloodmourn, and they operate within the guild "Of the Dragon"
His brother, Githas, is the only surviving member of his family. Bloodmourn in a ways could be considered a friend.
The Lich King.
Dathyl has a crystal-like spider that has been following him since his encounter with the spiders in Blackrock Mountain while doing surveilence for his former guild, "Sunder Fool"
Mission
Champion of the Frozen Wastes
Death sucks. Take my advice and don't give it a try.
Since the death of the Lich King, Dathyl has been wandering aimlessly. When under "Sunder Fool" he aided them with their cause, but as since the guild has fallen apart. Dathyl has again turned to wandering aimlessly.
The death of the Lich King. Owait...
None.

Born only a handful of seconds before his brother, Tho'athethal (Truth of the Healing), Vain'athual (Spirit of the Holy) and he were identical twins. They were raised in their village of Tranquillien and trained by their parents to become Farstriders. While out on training without parental vigilance, the boys would sometimes pretend the targets they were shooting at were the evil creatures their parents would tell them about to prevent wrongdoings. They each named the other with what they believed were cool codenames. Vain'athual became Dathyl, and Tho'athethal became Githas. The twins were able to enjoy their training when their parents were not supervising, but under the stern gaze of their elders the boys hated training.
Suddenly, the Orc Wars came into the forests of the High Elves, and the family was forced to retreat within the city of Silvermoon. The orcs set fire to the forest of Eversong, the twins were kept inside the city due to both of them being underaged. With the arrival of the Alliance armies, the twins witnessed the powerful Paladins of the Light in action. The twins were immediately enticed by the Light, they stared with awe at the Paladins whenever they glimpsed one. For some strange reason, Githas and Dathyl were always able to tell which man was a paladin. Soon the orcs were pushed from Eversong Woods and eventually defeated and enslaved.
As the twins aged, their parents pushed them ever further to becoming Farstriders. They moved again to the village of Fairbreeze, where their parents tasked them to prepare for the Farstrider Initiation Test. When ready, they were sent to the Farstrider Retreat to take the test. They passed solely due to their skills at combat, though neither were devoted or completely focused on their test, portraying just how rough their parents' training was. After completing the test, the two returned to Silvermoon to accept the Farstrider uniform and duties from Anasterian himself.
As the pair travelled through the streets of Silvermoon, they saw a rare sight, an armored human. They went up to him, to inquery as to why he was in the elf city, when he suddenly stared at them with a peculiar look on his face. He placed his hands on their heads and nodded. The elves were about to swat away his hands when he took them away. He introduced himself as Grannis Daelbane, and told the pair that they both had a natural affinity for the Light. Should they desire, he would train them to become Paladins. The pair looked at each other and tossed aside their Farstrider bows.
More rigorous training entailed. The elves were forced to enhance both their physical strength and their knowledge of the Light. Grannis took them to the city of Lordaeron, the great bastion of the northern humans. Here they learned all the basics to become skilled paladins, how to fight with large warhammers, how to utilize auras to bolster their allies' courage, and rudimentary healing abilities. When the two were finally deemed ready, Grannis sent them on a ship to the city of Stormwind, where they were to travel to Northshire Abby in order to finish their training. It was during this time that Arthas, the Prince of Lordaeron, would become vile and twisted. Arthas razed elven village after elven village and corrupted the Sunwell. Githas and Dathyl meanwhile were across the continent completing their paladin training.
The twins returned to find their race on the verge of collapse. They aided their kin as best they could, feeling as if their absence triggered the deaths of their people. They stayed in Silvermoon while Kael lead some of their people into Outland. The twins tried to teach their kin to be paladins like themselves but found they could not. Apparently the magical corruption that their people undertook in order to sate their addiction, they were unable to learn the basics that Githas and Dathyl could teach. The twins were saddened at this, and so devoted themselves to fending off the raids from the elven traitor, Dar'Khan Drathir. Eventually the twins grew so frustrated at the Traitor's raids that they gathered their equipment and a few able-bodied and launched an attack of their own.
Githas and Dathyl blasted and carved their way through the Traitor's keep. They cleaned the place of walking corpses so thoroughly that the Traitor himself was forced to engage in combat. He summoned more corpses to his side and took to the field, surrounding the twins and bombarding them with wave after wave of unholy spell. From a distance, Dar'Khan was unable to harm either twin. But when Dathyl approached Dar'Khan, the Traitor lashed out with a most wicked spell, slamming his hand into Dathyl's chest. Foul energy coursed through Dathyl and sapped away his life. With what power he had left, the elf clutched his warhammer and muttered a last prayer to the Light. a golden wave streaked out from Dathyl, slaying all nearby undead and forcing the Traitor to retreat and lick his wounds. Githas and the remaining battered elves were forced to retreat to Silvermoon. Dathyl's corpse was later reclaimed by Dar'Khan and set to his evil master, the Lich King. And so, Dathyl became a part of the Lich King's twisted experiment, the second generation of Death Knights.
His memory of his former life gone, Dathyl again underwent training. Becoming a Death Knight required him to hone his skills even more, and the training sparked a name. He remembered him and an elf child playing in the woods. The elf would often shout "Dathyl! Over here, come look at this!" or something or other to him, and so he took the name Dathyl as basis for his own. His scourge-corrupted mind formed an elven name as a mockery to his old heritage out of this name, and he decided to be called Dre'athmayl (Hound of the Death Gift). Following the Lich King's orders, he slew many innocents, along with the other Death Knights. In the battle of Light's Hope Chapel, Dathyl was then set free of the Lich King. He could finally think again, and his thoughts tormented him. He devoted himself completely to slaying the Lich King. Dathyl joined with a group of like-minded adventurers and eventually slew the Lich King, on the brink of finding his inner peace. But something tugs at the back of Dathyl's mind, something he is forgetting. He wanders aimlessly, hoping that his mental tug will reveal itself.
