Fen, Kiddo (Used only by his adoptive father. He despises it.)
16
Male
Single, and terrible with girls of all races, so he doesn't see it changing anytime soon. Other significant ties: Haytrus, who it could be argued is not so much a relative, but rather Fendrus himself. *See Impairments.
Chaotic good. He has a strong sense of right and wrong, but his need for fun often time trumps his morals.
Very light blond, usually cut short whenever he can pay a visit to a barber.
Deep green.
5' 6" (fairly short for a human male his age.
Scrawny for a warrior, with a muscle build that could be trumped by most Night Elf women.
A severe burn on his left abdominal side from being careless when he was 9 and training as a blacksmith, as well as a missing right earlobe. It has been missing for as long as he can remember, but doesn't know how it happened.
He is consistently assaulted by visions of fire and death, which almost always brings about the temporary emergence of Haytrus. Haytrus is someone not completely understood by Fen, but as he comprehends it thus far, Haytrus is the result of a sort of severe split-personality disorder fueled by some kind of dark magic. At certain times, which as far as Fen can tell, have no pattern or correlation and are completely random, he will have a short convulsion or severe headache. This is followed by visions of Haytrus and him hearing Haytrus' voice, which coldly mocks him and tells him of his desires for their bonding that will be his freedom. If Fen can calm himself down and concentrate on keeping him at bay, Haytrus will recede back into his mind and the episode ends. If he cannot, Haytrus gains a temporary merging with Fendrus, which alters his personality for a random amount of time before receding on his own once more, this has never lasted more than 20 minutes, but it is unknown if it could ever become permanent. When Fendrus enters this bonded state with Haytrus, he becomes the polar opposite of everything he normally is. He is humorless, merciless, cruel, confrontational and just generally malicious. He has even shown signs of being physically stronger when in this state. Fen still has no clue where this condition came from, but hopes to find answers in Hillsbrad, though he also knows it's a bit of a stretch to hope for such convenience answers.
He tends to dress in fairly light armor (again, an uncommon trait in a warrior) and favors mail and leather to plate and steel. When questioned about it, he says it impedes joint-use, slows him down, and to be honest, it gets really hot under there.
Fairly short, a muscular build is present, but not exactly impressive. He is average looking as far as attractiveness, nothing anyone looks twice at.
Fendrus/Haytrus- Dual swords or sword and shield/ Dual axes
Speaks with a common Stormwind accent. He tends to ramble on a bit too long from time to time and almost always uses speech that wouldn't find elegant. For example, when confronted by a drunk bar patron attempting to start a fight, a typical Stormwind resident might say something like "I think you've had a bit too much to drink. Maybe you should just go home." While in the same situation, Fen would most likely something to the extent of "Hey, pal! You smell like a dwarf during Brewfest. If you're gonna be drunk and stupid, could you take somewhere where people don't mind bothersome ugly people?"
Very friendly, with a sense of humor that won't quit, even when everyone around him wants it to. He is very kind, and his heart is always in the right place, but distinguishing whether a person will take a comment as a joke or an insult is a weakness of his. He tends to enjoy partaking in any leisure he can throughout his travels, whether it be quality food, ale that's stronger than a boy his age should be drinking, or toying with a piece of Gnomish technology, and anything else he can find. He consistently tries to be suave with young women he meets, but typically fails horribly. At heart, he knows he's no "ladies man", but tries every chance he gets just the same.
Haytrus' presence within him causes rare but consistent facial ticks and involuntary shouting of nothing in particular, just a load scream that usually startles him as much as everyone around him.
His adoptive father, Llane Beshere, trained him in blacksmithing and the locating and mining of metals and stone alongside how to fight. He is stronger as a warrior than a blacksmith, but has enough skill to craft himself occasional pieces of armor or a weapon, as well as repairing some of his gear when needed.
Yet another trait as a warrior he possesses that others who answer his call don't, he is intelligent. More so than he lets on anyhow. Due to his lacking physical strength, he relies on split-second strategics in combat to take down his opponent. He can think very quickly, but in turn, can also be impulsive.
Another talent that he never shares with anyone, is his affinity for writing literature. He is very talented as a scribe and poet, especially of a more romantic nature. He would drive his blade through his own foot before openly admitting this however.
Even when Haytrus is not fully present in him, he finds that certain personality traits of Haytrus surface in him from time to time. However, the traits are typically coexist with his own more noble traits. This leads to bouts of over-aggression and anger, but directed at a wrong-doer or someone looking to harm someone he cares about. Or perhaps a willingness to lie or be deceptive when it comes to the law in order to attain something for the greater good.
None at the moment. He is currently on his own.
Father, Ferdus Grimmheart- Deceased (possibly undead, fate at the hands of the plague unknown.)
Mother, Daliah Grimmheart- Deceased (possibly undead, fate at the hands of the plague unknown.)
Uncle, Greffin Grimmheart- Deceased (after getting Fendrus to a boat to escape the plague when it was discovered he was infected.)
Adoptive Father, Llane Beshere- Alive (residing in Northshire Abbey in Elwynn Forest.)
Arthas Menethil/ The Lich King- Responsible for the deaths of his last true family members.
Mission
Freelance Warrior
Sometimes life is shit. If you laugh instead of cry about it, it won't seem quite as bad.
He became a warrior for very personal reasons. He wanted to ensure that nobody could ever take anything from him again and that he was strong enough to stop them if they tried. He is also very empathetic towards innocents he comes across who are in danger or have been wronged, and is more than willing to go out of his way to help them.
Reach Hillsbrad in order to investigate the details of his parent's fate. He is uneasy about this goal, as he was given the idea by Haytrus, but sees it as his only chance to cure himself of his shadow and find closure regarding his lost family.
History
Hillsbrad, Lordaeron
Lost his parents to the plague at the age of 3. His uncle was able to place him on a ship to Stormwind in order to escape but was killed by the crew when it was discovered he was also infected with undeath. Seeing his uncle slain and thrown overboard scarred him irreversably.

My name is Fendrus, but my friends call me Fen. Not that I have many friends. But I'm not writing this to complain about life, now am I? I'm writing this in hopes that someday someone will read it and know a bit about me, who I was and what I did. If I'm lucky, perhaps one day I'll read it myself with someone when I'm old. Perhaps my children or grandchildren, but then again, there are things that would have to happen between now and then that are far from likely.
Today I left the abbey for what will likely be a fairly long time. I've never strayed far from Northshire, but I haven't exactly been sheltered my whole life. I'd been to Goldshire before, it's only a little over a mile to walk. Llane sometimes has me courier things there, mainly smithing supplies and the occasional letter. I'd never been there during Winters Veil though, and I have to say, it's a hell of a time! There are these bright lights on all the buildings that are different in coloration (I'd have to guess they're the work of gnomes or an exceptionally skilled human) and potted pine trees with decorations on them that were placed all around the town. In Northshire, usually the priests and paladins lead an especially long and boring sermon in the morning and any celebrating done by Llane and myself waits till we are alone with some of Llane's friends. Even then, it wasn't much fun for me because after a while they would all drink themselves silly and Llane would have me stay in my room from that point in the evening till morning. They always sing these stupid-sounding songs about Father Christmas and Metzen the reindeer. At least the next morning, Llane had always left a present for me at the foot of my bed.
I've gotten really off topic! Can't help myself sometimes, I just never know when to shut my damn mouth. Those the exact words Llane used once. What a birthday that was. Anyways, I suppose my journey to Hillsbrad is going well as of now, but it's only the first day after all. Tomorrow I'm going to look around town for some work. I've got a long journey and almost no money, so if I'm going to continue into Westfall, I'll need to do a job or two.
