Character Details

"Puddinkup", "Puddin'", Danny, 'Chaser, Old Cow
Never really kept track. About 75 years, give or take.
Male
Widower. Doesn't have any children of his own.
Neutral Good
Was once a golden brown color in his youth, but his pelt is now a snow white.
Milky Blue. Glows faintly in dim light/darkness.
Solid 8'
Typical massive build of Tauren Males
For a Tauren, he's quite clean shaven, and sports a small ring piercing in his snout.
--He is absolutely blind, and unable to see. His loss of eyesight was gradual, and it finally left him not long after he completed his Rites of the Earthmother.
--To be brief, time had taken its due toll on Dano. Now a venerable Tauren, he is subject to aches, pains, and a severely reduced stamina. It takes a great amount of uninterrupted focus and energy for him to participate in extended conflicts and journeys.
He prefers simple clothing and armors. At the very least, he is usually seen wearing a plain druidic-acolyte's robe. When he is traveling long distances or when preparing for combat, he is in sturdier leather effects.
"It's just a nickname." you hear him explain to another curious passerby. "You can call me Dano if 'Puddinkup' doesn't suit ye."

You can't help but notice this particular Druid, his alabaster fur alone setting him apart from other Tauren. He is the typical hulking Tauren, standing head and shoulders above most of the other folk hanging around him. Getting a closer look, you can't help but notice the color of his eyes; they are a milky blue, glowing with a nearly unearthly light. He smiles, knowing that you're looking at him, but he's not looking at you... A sure sign that his old Tauren is blind.

Right when you start to feel sorry for him, you notice an aura of strength and confidence. Perhaps his blindness isn't a handicap after all; his strength and confidence only add to the typical kindness and gentleness of the Shu'halo. Right away, you feel safe and protected around this blind Druid, knowing that he won't judge you for what you look like... but that he will befriend you by the content of your heart.

With that, you safely assume he is friendly and approachable enough to say hello...
His walking stick. It's not much more than simple wooden staff.
He speaks like an old sage of nature. He will also take on fatherly tones depending on the situation.
As an elder Tauren, Dano is predictably wise and fatherly. He is also very slow, his age having finally succeeded in slowing his once famous breakneck pace. He is consistent and consistently content.
In his youth, he was always on the move, be it travel or always taking the initiative. Now that he is older, wiser, and much slower, he is more willing to stand in the back and let the younger and more fit take the lead. Still, every now and then that old impatient and independent streak of his resurfaces, leading to some very amusing and awkward situations.
While he may have slowed down, he has not lost the dexterity in his hands, and still works as a skinner and tanner for the local hunting community (No, he does not craft leather. Obviously, his blindness makes things interesting when he works with needles.)

He has also dabbled in enchanting and herbalism, and is still very competent in cooking and first aid.
Dano, in his younger years, had a prodigious grasp of the art of psychometry. It was advanced enough to the point of allowing him to bend it into a sort of short range telepathy, using the ground he was standing upon as a conductor for transmitting and receiving thoughts and memories in real time to anyone who was withing typical speaking distance. The potency of Dano's psychometry allowed it effectively replace his lost eyesight. Nowadays, Dano is a little out of practice in regards to his psychometry, but he is confident that all his skill will return in time.
As of this writing, Dano is just coming out of "retirement" after having settled down on Thunder Bluff upon its establishment . On this new journey, he is taking up the gentler path of the Druid instead of the demanding Shamanistic training of his youth, so the skills he used to rely on are very rusty and he is understandably a slight bit out of his element.
As of this chronicle, Dano has yet to find a guild to support him. Until then, he has the support of his fellow Tauren Elders and some support from the Cenarion Circle.
Dano no longer has an immediate family, as his wife died from a miscarriage caused by a centaur raid. He still has his extended clan, and they keep tabs on him as he wanders Azeroth once more. Among Dano's contacts is Pterneldan Crossdeep, a Night Elf Druid who serves as a sort of mentor for Dano-- despite Dano's obvious blindness, the two manage keep regular correspondence.
Beyond the centaur responsible for the death of his wife and unborn child, Dano harbors no ill will toward any living soul, nor does he wish to make any enemies. He is wary around Goblins, Blood Elves, and Undead... but beyond that, he is amiable.
While not a pet quite yet, Dano has been protecting a rather unusual egg that was given to him by his niece not long before he decided to wander the world again. Only the Earthmother knows what is waiting to hatch out of that egg...

Mission

"He Who Sees Without Seeing"
"It takes knowledge to see the flaws of this world. It takes wisdom to see past those flaws."

As a young tauren learning the art of Shamanism, he stumbled upon this talent by touching the skeletal remains of a lion cub and a Tauren Hunter. In an instant, he saw how the Hunter died trying to protect the cub from an angry and territorial black lion. His teacher, his clan's medicine man, recognized what it was that allowed Dano to see memories by touch and focused on that as Dano trained with the elements. As a druid, Dano is rediscovering just how powerful his talents in psychometry are and how well they had been trained...
