Jeanne was born and raised off the shores of Theramore Isle in a small cottage where she lived with her father and mother. Her father was a man of the Sea, being brought up and taught the ways of the Fisherman. From long hours in the sun and constantly hauling heavy loads he had developed a heavily muscled tanned body. Her mother which she took after as far as features went was quite curvy, fair skinned with the face of an angel. Although she spent many months with her mother she always awaited for the arrival of her father as he was gone on fishing trips, months at a time.
When her father did return from his trips, he would share with them the bountiful fish and tales of his journey. Jeanne was always in shock and awe at the stories her father told as she imagined herself being in them. Besides sharing these gifts, her father would teach her the proper ways to fish and how life was at the Great Sea, though her mother quite more than often wished she would be more ladylike. When she wasnt being taught how to fish, her father was also trained in the art of hand to hand combat, taught to him when his fishing crew sailed to the far eastern lands. He trained Jeanne to defend herself, if the need were to arise.
While her father was away at sea, her mother was her instructor. Jeanne's mother was raised in the city of Theramore and workd as a very skilled Triage Nurse. Her mother taught her basic knowledge skills, along with medical usage and the Culinary arts. Jeannes mother had hoped one day she would use these skills to provide for a husband of her own, though Jeanne would always make a face of disgust when her mother mentioned boys. When she wasn't being taught or instructed by her mother, she would be enjoying the warm salty waters by the Theramore shore while her mother wrote letters to father. If she wasnt enjoying the warm salty waters and cool breezes, shes was constantly practicing her fishery and martial arts in hopes of performing to her father what she has accomplished. From the stories her father told on his trips home, she was always mostly intrigued by the story of the pirates. The notorious Captain Redhand and his crew whom her father had seen their ships infiltrating the late Admiral Proudmoores military. Jeanne would imagine that she was a pirate, but a good pirate and committing acts of goodness.
One dark stormy night with the winds howling, but more violent than ever Jeanne and her mother couldn't sleep for fear that father was in this horrorific storm. While they tried there best to sleep they heard loud knocks at the door. Mother was on guard as well as I, then she recognized the voice and opened the door without hesitating. It was father and he had with him one of his crewmates. Jeanne's father had a nasty gash on his backside and his crewmate was unconscious with some nasty wounds as well. Both were losing blood fast, so mother began to tend to their wounds immediatly. When mother asked father what had happened, all he could say was that they made a mistake, a horrible mistake. Her fathers crew had been attacked by Captain Redhands men. Upon her fathers fishing travels his crew came across an abandoned ship off the coast. When her father and his crew searched the ship it looked like a battle took place, but no one was to be found. After conducting a thorough search in hopes to aid anyone that may need help, Jeanne's father spotted a fleet of ships making their way towards theirs. The sails were tainted with the sign that these belonged to Captain Redhand. Jeanne's father and his crew had to defend themselves, but they were not prepared for combat. Although her father and his crew were good men, they just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Her father put a makeshift dressing on his backside while her mother tended to her father's crewmate's wounds. While this was being done the ships of Captain Redhand came near and as they came ashore you could hear their gibbering pirate slang and warcrys. The moments following them coming ashore were the screams and cries of their fellow neighbors as the Redhand Pirates descended their attack of raiding and destroying all that was in their sight. Theramore Isle was to be lost in the modst of the night, but Jeanne's father had hidden his most prized possesion, besides her mother and herself. Her father had hidden a sword of great calibur and beauty, that burned with fiery vengeance that would strike down any foe. Jeanne's mother had hidden her just as Redhands men bombarded her home. As she peaked through a peephole under the floorboards she witnessed her father slaying to waves of Redhands men, but the third wave was to much especially with his backside wearing him down. Her father was beheaded as redhands men came down on him. Her mother was raped (the savage dogs) before being murdered and fathers crewmate met death swiflty. Redhands men set her home ablaze, and from the smoke Jeanne passed out.
When she awoke, Jeanne crwles out from underneath the floorboards. A great pain struck her as she saw both her parents lying there lifeless. She did not shed a tear as her fathers last words were "Be strong Jeanne, you must make a name for yourself...", these words she would never forget and would embroider them into her very soul. When she came outside dawn was setting and the fires from the other cottages could be seen as well as the horrofic scene of death everywhere. Off the coast three of Redhands ships were still there and with that a few of his men were wondering about scavenging for bounty, until they spotted Jeanne, for whom they would surely rape and murder. Before exiting her home she had grabbed her fathers sword and was ready to defend herself, but her father never taught her the way of the sword. So as they came near she let out a scream and swung horizontally at them while her eyes were closed as she knew death was enevitable. Upon swinging the sword, she stumbled to the ground and when she opened her eyes all six men were dead. In front of her she could see a shadow and when she turned around a mysteriously masked figure was standing there with an aura of tainted blood and death. This masked figure spoke to her with a soft gentle voice and told Jeanne that she was now safe and told her to find refuge in the city of Theramore. After being spoken to the figure was gone before she could thank her.
This masked figure whom was clad in dark leathers with an arsenal of knives and two well sharpened swords mounted on her back, returned to Theramore Isle three days later and was astonished at the sight she saw. Jeanne had buried everyone, good or bad, for they must seek redemption in the afterlife. Covered from head to toe in tattered cloths smothered with blood and ash with the foul stench of death, her eyes were shown with endless agony. Seperate from all the other graves were two with bigger stones and flowers, for these were her parents. The masked figure appproached her and questioned her. "If you don't wish to seek refuge at Theramore, then you will die", Jeanne expalained that this was home and she would have her revenge, but she would need help. At first the masked figure was declined to aid her, but told her she would take her in as an apprentice on one condition that if she slacked off in anyway she would be sent to Theramore. Jeanne made a Blood oath with her new Master Kirika Yuumura, to learn all that she could.
After five years of training under Master Kirika, she became very skilled in various arts. She was taught the art of the shadows, weaponry combat both ranged and melee, martial arts based on Master Kirika's family lineage and lastly the deadly assassination techniques. To better indulge her body, mind and soul she was constantly disclipined and heavy meditation was key to better adapt to her surroundings. Master Kirika was also a well accomplished Alchemist and in her old age she passed on her secrets to Jeanne as well with all her knowledge over the years for Jeanne was to be her successor when she finally leaves the world.
At the age of 19 years old, Master Kirika left this world and entered into the next due to becoming ill and of old age. Though when she left, Jeanne was trained well and a very skilled assassin or ninja as she was taught the ways of Ninjitsu. Over the next year she made preparations, as since the death of her parents she kept up with the news regarding Captain Redhand and his crew's whereabouts. She continued to train in private in the Stonetalon Mountains where she lived ever since she was taken in by Master Kirika. Jeanne had made a journey back to Theramore Isle, to recover three ships that belonged to Captain Redhand, she had Master Kirika help her stow the ships in a hidden aclove before making the oath of apprenticeship. Over the next few months she made a name for herself and recruited mercenaries to man her ships in the defeat of Captain Redhand. The next 3 years would be remembered as the campaign of the 'Black Fleet', for Jeanne stripped the sails off the Redhand ships and replaced them with crimson red, the ships were painted black with improvements from the aid of gnomish engineer's.
Throughout her campaign she was known as "Commander of the Black Fleet", she could be seen in battle aboard her vessel clad in dark heavy leather that her Master once were with some enhancements and customizations to her liking with raven black and blood red colors, she would carry with her in one hand the sword her father once wielded and a fiery torch thus giving her the name of "The Flame". On her campaign she would aid the ships of late Admiral Proudmoores soldiers and would hunt down Redhands ships in search of him. Over the 3 years she made quite a name for herself with Theramore, being named "Lioness of Theramore" and among others "Pirate Queen". The Great Seas was hers and all those who came across her heavily intimidated. At the age of 23, She had finally crossed paths with Captain Cervantes Redhand of the Great Sea, and he met his fate as did all those aboard.
When she returned to the docks of Theramore she presented the head of Captain Cervantes Redhand on a pike, to late Admiral Proudmoore's daughter, the current leader of Theramore 'Lady Jaina Proudmoore'. This was the end of her campaign and that night a celebration took place in rememberance of the attack of Theramore Isle and the 3 years of the 'Campaign of the Black Fleet'. The night ended with the last 3 ships that were used in the campaign being rigged with explosives and detonated as a grand finale.
Since her days as a Commander, she relieved all the mercenaries of there duties and resigned. At the age of 24, she currently resides in the grand sea city of Theramore and is self-employed as an assassin-for-hire. As she is in her prime she eagerly awaits for the time another great journey will cross her path. |
