Simple clothing, such as plain dresses, or simple shirt and trousers, often sewn by her own hand. She does possess formal robes for occasions that require them, as well as a couple of "nice" dresses (which she very rarely wears). Her clothing is always clean and pressed, if occasionally a bit worn.
Arlys isn't a particularly beautiful woman; girl-next-door cute is the best she can hope for. Her eyes are her most striking feature, though this isn't always evident, since she requires glasses to read. Her build and figure are average, tending a bit toward softness; she's a scholar, after all---not an adventurer. Her skin is tanned, implying that she spends a great deal of time outdoors. (She doesn't; her skin tone is a gift from her mother, who was dark complected.) Her cheeks and the bridge of her nose are freckled, as are her arms and her upper chest and back. (She may be freckled elsewhere as well, though you'll never find out.)

Her mode of speech tends to be very animated, particularly when speaking on a topic she finds interesting; she cannot imagine that you wouldn't find it every bit as interesting as she does. Her voice is a soft alto.
Unflaggingly cheerful, with a sense of irreverent humor that she is not afraid to employ.
She is a tailor of reasonable skill. She has, in the past, done custom work and mending to pay the bills and put food on the table.
Her only living family is her father, a disabled veteran of the 3rd war. She shares a small apartment with him in Stormwind's Old Town.
Mission
"All knowledge is worth having."
She has always been mind-hungry; possessed of a keen intellect and a life-long love of scholarship, the path of a mage was the one most likely to provide her with what she sought. Always fascinated by the stories of the Order of Tirisfal and its Guardians, she has made it her lifework to study the life of Medivh, and the secrets of Karazhan.
Her life's ambition is to get inside Karazahn to study; as a move toward that goal, she is tireless in her campaign for an apprenticeship to someone of rank within the Kirin Tor.
She is working on a biographical account of the life of Medivh, though this is kept secret from all but a select few that she trusts.
