Tuanchii's exact blood liasons are somewhat of a mystery, though it is generally assumed from her looks that she belongs to the Darkmane clan. Her earliest past is largely unknown, and she makes little effort to explain herself. It can, however, be inferred that she harbours a deep enmity towards the marauding centaur, moreso than most other Tauren usually have a reason to.

Because of her temperamental nature, she was initially expected to join the ranks of the Tauren Braves of Thunder Bluff, and she showed great potential with her swiftly-established martial prowess and thirst for battle. Much to everyone's surprise, she then went on to exhibit the tell-tale signs of an ascendant Shaman - mainly through a very spontaneous Earthshock when she was practicing the traditional war stomp of the Tauren warrior cadre.

It was quickly recognised that her talent for close combat lay in an inherent connection with the wrathfulness of the elements rather than bloodthirst and personal rage. Thus, after many a gruelling night spent studying the initiations of the Earthmother, Tuanchii was sent once more to the trainers in Red Cloud Mesa with one goal in mind - to make her promise of power a reality ...

-- Perhaps it was a little unfortunate that the first Forsaken Tuanchii would encounter was the lost soul of Clarice Foster, aimlessly wandering the Pools of Vision in an all-encompassing rage and bitterness towards a deceased, overzealous husband. Seeing this level of hatred in another person beside herself has had a considerable impact on Tuanchii, though she is only now beginning to comprehend the meaning of her own tumultuous emotions at the time of the meeting. For the time being, Tuanchii is quietly displeased by the Forsaken's presence within the Pools right beneath the Spirit Rise itself, but she's keeping her mouth shut about it, reluctant to question her leaders' sense of judgement.

-- Now regularly encountering the other factions comprising the New Horde during her expanding travels, Tuanchii has had several degrees of adjustment to do. Given High Chieftain Cairne's close counsel with the (now former) Orc Warchief, Thrall, Tuanchii mellowed fairly easily to the Orcs' presence within the vast expanses of The Barrens, while the Darkspear Trolls remain somewhat of a mystery to her (and she's never had much patience with mysterious things). She remains reticent to interact with any members of the Forsaken.

-- In the wake of the new animosity flaring up between the Alliance and the Horde, particularly the violent push into Southern Barrens and Stonetalon Mts from Northwatch, Tuanchii has acquired several new reasons to detest the Alliance as of late ...

-- The Orcish Horde arrives in Kalimdor when Tuanchii is in her mid-adolescense. She is part of the first migration into Thunder Bluff after Mulgore is secured through Thrall's and Cairne's joint effort.

-- Reaching her coming of age, she is inducted as a trainee among fellow would-be Braves in Bloodhoof Village. Her training takes an unexpected new turn as she shows the tell-tale signs of an ascendant Shaman. She spends the next several seasons easing into her new career.

-- Following an extended period of introversion and meditation at Sun Rock Retreat in Stonetalon Mts, Tuanchii promptly relocates to Freewind Post in Thousand Needles. It is generally presumed, if privately, by her remaining aquaintances among the Thunder Bluff Braves that the increasing Galak centaur presence in the south is the main catalyst for this. She proceeds to spend equal time between the Needles and Southern Barrens.

-- The campaign against the Lich King ends, prompting Tuanchii's departure from the Needles to resume her more in-depth training in Thunder Bluff with the returned shaman elders. The Elder Crone Magatha initiates the usurpation against Cairne and Freewind Post is seized by the Grimtotem of Darkcloud Pinnacle. Tuanchii sides with the exiled Baine and is present during the retaking of Thunder Bluff.

-- The Cataclysm hits the Needles as Tuanchii is en-route with a cadre of Braves and fellow Shu'halo shamans to recapture Freewind Post. Narrowly escaping the rampaging tsunami along with a fraction of the dispatched force, she stays put to aid the evacuation. Said evacuation is violently cut short when the Grimtotem launch a pre-emptive assault, taking advantage of the ongoing upheaval. Exhausted and weakened from the elemental devastation, Tuanchii is left with little other option than to use her Astral Recall to escape to Thunder Bluff and report the events to Baine.

-- As soon as her recovery allows, she immediately sets out to take stock of the current political situation, witnessing the now open warfare in Stonetalon Mts and Southern Barrens. She quickly aligns herself with the guerrilla forces overlooking the now Alliance-held Honor Hold after seeing first-hand the cruelty being employed by the human invaders ...

-- Exploring and combating her way through a cleaved Barrens wracked by conflict, Tuanchii becomes entwined in an escalating spiral of vengeance: from aiding the displaced refugees of sacked Taurajo to bodily infiltrating the Dwarven fortress of Bael Modan and finally watching the impenetrable stronghold go sky-high from a Goblin sabotage job alongside a mortally wounded Genn Stonespire.

-- Encountering a group of Earthen Ring shamans camped almost on the border of the (unsettlingly expanded) thornsnarl of the Razorfen territory, featuring members from both sides of the aggression all around them, Tuanchii experiences a spiritual and emotional epiphany, culminating when she meets the now legendary Orc warrior Mankrik whose hatred for the quilboar has burned undiminished since the day his wife fell to the vicious pigmen so many years in the past. Deeply shaken by the display of the Orc's unquenchable rage and bitterness, Tuanchii returns to Thunder Bluff with haste and enters into a period of deep introspection and meditation, trying to come to grips with her own internal turmoil ...
