It was hot and humid in the Swamp of Sorrows when Emeralde arrived, despite the fact that it was nearly evening. She rode along the swamp's paths, her eyes sweeping the ground. Then she spotted a streak of red as she passed close to Stonard, a settlement of orcs in the south of the swamp. Excited, she ventured deeper into the swamp, unconcerned about the nearby orc village. Then she saw it ... several deep red flowers growing alongside a canal. Emeralde rushed to the flowers and knelt down to admire them. She inhaled deeply and closed her eyes, imagining her wedding day. The fragrance swirled around and around and around ... and time seemed to stop.
