Your Role-Playing Wardrobe in World of Warcraft: Favorite Robes for Low-Level Females PDF Print E-mail

What's in your RP closet? If you're like me, you've got bags of gear in your bank, not because of their great stats, but because of their great looks. Yet, still, you yearn for more, always seeking those special pieces that define your character or, well, just look amazing!

I've been collecting RP gear since I began role-playing and my collection has grown quite large. As I play predominantly female characters, my pieces tend to focus on robes and the like, and I often get questions about where to find them. Here's a list of my favorite RP robes for low-level females (level 20 and below) ... and how YOU can get them for your character. The first few are typically easy or inexpensive to obtain, while the last are pricier and rarer. Enjoy!

Simple Dress (no level requirements)

Description: A pretty white and blue dress with a sweet, innocent look. Sometimes simple is best!

How to Obtain: Tailors with a skill of 40 can make these robes, so ask a friend to make them for you or check the Auction House.

Recruit's Robes (no level requirements)

Description: Off-the-shoulder blue and purple robes. A bold look.

How to Obtain: These are the Draenei mage starter robes. If you're on the Alliance side, just roll up a new Draenei mage and mail these robes to the character who wants to wear them. If you're on the Horde side, or just don't have the space for a new character, check your auction house. I've seen them appear on both faction's auction houses, though you should expect to see them for more on the Horde side.

Woodland Robes (no level requirements)

Description: Sleeveless blue and green robes with a very deep v-neckline.

How to Obtain: These robes are a quest reward from the Webwood Egg quest in the Night Elf starting area (Teldrassil). If you've already done the quest and chose another reward, or deleted the robes -- or maybe you're a Horde character and cannot do the quest at all -- there's another option! The Light Magesmith Robes look identical, and better yet, they do not bind on equip. Unfortunately, these alternate robes have only a 1% chance to drop from Frostmane Novice mobs in the Dwarf/Gnome starting area (Coldridge Valley in Dun Morogh), so be prepared to work for them.

Sleeping Robes (level 5+)

Description: A natural look, with cap shoulders and a daringly plunging neckline. Maroon, purple, gray, and green.

How to Obtain: Do the Druid of the Claw quest in Teldrassil and choose these robes as your reward. On the Horde side? Sorry, out of luck.

Draenic Silk Robes (no level requirements)

Description: Earthtone robes with bell sleeves and striking lines.

How to Obtain: These robes are sold for 50g 5c by Hakmud of Argus, which is a vendor on a Traveler's Tundra Mammoth. If you don't have a Traveler's Tundra Mammoth, you can often find these on the Auction House for a markup. Alternatively, hang about in popular gathering spots (Dalaran, Stormwind City, Orgrimmar) and wait for a player to summon their Traveler's Tundra Mammoth -- you can then click on Hakmud and purchase the robes from him directly.

Elegant Dress (no level requirements)

Description: A lovely pink lace gown with a keyhole neckline. Very feminine.

How to Obtain: These are found in eggs or purchased from special vendors only during the Noblegarden Festival in the spring. If it isn't Noblegarden time, check the Auction House, but be prepared to drop a lot of gold. These robes are non-binding, however.

Lovely Black Dress (no level requirements)

Description: A strappy little black dress with a revealing, heart-shaped cut-out.

How to Obtain: These are found in gifts and pledges during the Love is in the Air event each February. If it isn't February, check the Auction House for these beauties. The drop rate was increased in 2009, so they should be a bit easier to obtain than previously. Note: When Love is in the Air rolls around, be sure to do the Dearest Colara (Alliance) or Dearest Elenia (Horde) quest chains -- they reward you with your choice of a Lovely Red Dress, a Lovely Blue Dress, or a Lovely Purple Dress. These bind-on-pickup robes have the same look as the Lovely Black Dress, but in pretty colors.
