The RPGeeks.com character sheet system is custom-designed to be simple, easy, and fun to fill out! Here's how it works:

Before You Begin: You'll need to have an active RPGeeks.com account and to be logged into it. Once you're logged in, go to your character sheet (click the menu item, search for yourself in the character list, or just click this link).

Entering Your Information: To begin entering all the juicy details about your character, click the Edit menu near the top of your character sheet -- from there you can add information (Update Your Character Sheet) and add an image (Update Your Character Portrait). If you're not sure what to put where, look for a small, blue "i" -- these will give you tips and advice. To save any information, be sure to click the Update button at the bottom of the window.

But What About ...? Here are questions to questions you might have:

How much does it cost to have an RPGeeks.com character sheet?
Nothing, it's free! While we may add new features in the future that require a small subscription fee and/or add advertisements to the web site so that we may cover the growing costs to operate this web site, we will not take away the core features that currently exist. RPGeeks.com will always have free character sheets! And our system runs on a highly respectable web hosting company with regular backups, excellent security, and zero downtime, so you can trust that your information is in a safe place.

What if I want to have more than one character sheet?
No problem! Just create a new RPGeeks.com account for the character in question to ensure their information is kept separate. You can even use the same e-mail address at registration to simplify matters! Just make sure your Geek Name (username) is unique -- we recommend you match your Geek Name to your Character Name to make it easier for you to remember. If you have more than one character and you used the same e-mail address when you registered, our system finds all of your characters and displays them in an alphabetical list on the left side of your screen for easy reference!

What if my character plays on a different game?
RPGeeks.com is for all roleplayers. We're World of Warcraft-focused because that's where Emeralde and Valherst met and play today, but our character sheets work for any character. Everyone is welcome! And if you have need of specific fields for certain places/types of roleplay, please suggest them by adding a comment to this article.

Can I set my character information to be private?
Yes, but in the spirit of sharing information among roleplayers, only certain areas can be flagged as private: your Journal and your Secrets. To make either of these areas private, choose the appropriate option from the drop-down menu in the upper-right area of that tab in your character sheet. If you want total privacy, select "Invisible" to ensure only you see it.

How do I get an awesome character portrait like Emeralde's and Valhert's?
Three possible ways: a) create a unique one yourself using a graphics program, such as Photoshop; b) use our Photoshop template to create a portrait just like Emeralde's (just copy and paste a screenshot of your character into the file and layer it under the round frame); or c) ask Emeralde nicely (hint: she's more likely to do it if you fill out the rest of your character sheet first and leave nice notes on hers ;) )

How do I get one of those cool signature images for my character?
Just click the the [View Sig] link on the left side of the screen (under your mini portrait and character sheet completion bar. This will display your signature image based on the exact information you have in your character sheet at that moment. Copy the URL of the image -- you can use this to add the image to your signature in forums across the web. New signature image designs, information choices, and sizes will be made available in the future.

How do I contact a fellow Geek?
The best way is to go to their character sheet and click on the Notes tab -- you can leave them a note here! Another way is to click on the Messages menu at the top of their character sheet then choose Send Email. This opens a form that you can fill out to send them an e-mail -- you will not be able to see their actual e-mail address for the sake of privacy, however.

Why don't I have all the tabs other characters do?
Tabs won't display unless you have information saved in them. Edit your character sheet and be sure you have something under every tab!

How often do I need to save my work to avoid having my login session timeout?
30 minutes, but we recommend you save more frequently, just to be on the safe side. If you're concerned that your session has timed out, copy any thing you've written before clicking the Update button -- then if you did time out, you have it in your copy buffer.

How do I get my most recent character development to show up on the main character list and on my signature image?
Update your character sheet, click on History, and add your recent development to the "Recent Event" field.

What is the web link (URL) to my character sheet so I can share it with others?
There are two ways to get your personal web links:

1. Add your character name where you see the XXX in the following link:
http://www.rpgeeks.com/my-rp-character-sheet/userprofile/XXX.html

2. Log out, click on Characters, find yourself, and copy the URL displayed in your browser.

Note: We're working on a more elegant way to obtain your web link. Stay tuned.

Do you have plans for new features? Can you add X feature?
Yes and maybe yes! If you have an idea for a new feature, please leave a comment in this article (scroll down) and we'll see what we can do!

Take me to my character sheet!

Hey, how does one change one's password after a password recovery? I have the one emailed to me, but I cannot find an option to change it. Any help would be appreciated. Also, is there another general section where we can ask questions about the site?
